Description

You should possess a comprehensive understanding of wireless technologies and have direct practical experience demonstrating subject matter expertise in one of the wireless connectivity technologies, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (classic BT/BLE), Thread/Matter, or UWB. You should have a deep theoretical knowledge of wireless protocols and hands-on experience in consistently validating one of these wireless technologies. In this role, responsibilities include, but not limited to: - Reviewing design and product requirements, translating them into test plans, automating the tests, building wireless radiated lab setups that simulate different system conditions. - Evaluating the performance of wireless technologies for specific products and demonstrating the user benefits of the technology. - Performing comprehensive measurements and analyses of multi-radio wireless coexistence-driven scenarios. - Preparing test reports, dashboards to visualize data, performing risk assessment and failure analysis to aid data driven product decisions. - Working closely with cross-functional teams and representing the organization in key leadership forums

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Software Test Engineer specializing in wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, UWB, and other wireless protocols.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Technical Lead in the wireless domain, demonstrating exceptional collaboration skills and project management abilities across various business units.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 802.11 and TCP/IP protocols, along with programming experience in scripting languages such as PERL, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, C#, and others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong debugging experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in white-box testing is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) or Bluetooth/BLE, 802.15.4/Thread/Matter, UWB.
  • Proficiency in network/RF tools such as iPerf, Wireshark, Ellisys, Network and Spectrum Analyzers, attenuators is beneficial.
  • Experience working with standards bodies in the wireless domain, including IEEE, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Thread Group, UWB consortium, is beneficial.
  • A solid understanding of operating systems, particularly macOS and Unix is advantageous.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
