Minimum Qualifications
- Work on prototype development and modification, from concept ideation to physical realization, including adapting and improving off-the-shelf robotic systems, leveraging advanced fabrication techniques.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent) for detailed design and mechanical modeling.
- Operate and maintain 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, and other rapid prototyping equipment.
- Work with various materials (metals, plastics, composites) and fabrication methods (milling, welding, additive manufacturing, etc.).
- Integrate electronics and embedded systems into prototypes, including PCB design, sensor integration, and microcontroller programming.
- Collaborate with industrial designers, software engineers, and research teams to create functional and aesthetically refined prototypes.
- Iterate quickly based on user feedback, technical constraints, and functional requirements.
- Document designs, processes, and test results to streamline future developments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics, mechatronics, or hardware/software integration.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for transitioning prototypes to production.
- Familiarity with industrial design principles and human-centered design.
- Programming experience in Python, C++, or embedded firmware development.
- Experience working in a research or innovation-focused team.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $205,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
