We're looking for a senior instructional designer to bring deep expertise building and delivering technology-based instructional materials, curricula, and professional learning programs. Your experience driving high-visibility, large scale projects, in a digital content production environment and collaborating with both creative and technical teams will be vital in this role.

Description

Work closely with product marketing, developer relations, developer publications, operations, software engineering, and various sales teams to bring phenomenal content to learners and institutions around the world. Help identify innovative approaches to instructing code and building apps that are simple, elegant, and made better with Apple technology. Additional responsibilities include: - Develop and design coding tutorials, articles, blog posts, and other educational resources. - Build engaging coding exercises, projects, and problem sets for Swift and SwiftUI at varying levels. - Engage with the coding community to understand their needs, gain feedback, and incorporate suggestions into content development. - Produce video content, including screencasts and instructional videos, to supplement written materials. - Represent the work in a compelling way with experts and creators, internally and in the field. - Review and analyze the effectiveness of content through user feedback, engagement metrics, and other performance indicators. - Translate sophisticated technical concepts into accessible content for a broad audience. - Maintain version control and update content regularly to reflect new developments and feedback. - Team with instructional designers to align content with learning objectives and pedagogical strategies. - Collaborate with marketing teams to promote content through various channels, including social media, online forums, email campaigns, and websites.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years proven experience designing professional learning and educational content.
  • Experience scripting in Swift and Xcode.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design experience in educational technology or e-learning environments.
  • Robust knowledge of developer technologies to improve learning and PL experience.
  • Interest and base level understanding of machine learning and spatial computing.
  • Proficient in GitHub.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to the smallest details.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional internal and external teams.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams at once to ensure success of project timelines.
  • College degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Writing, Education, or a related field.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $140,700 and $234,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
