Description
This position starts at iPhone product concept and continues through design phases to post product ramp. You will publish system level power estimates for various customer usage scenarios to drive battery life and thermal design discussions, own system-level power validation, analyze next-generation hardware with various multi-functional teams across Apple, perform hands-on lab investigations, and debug power-related issues to identify power-saving opportunities. Throughout the iPhone development cycle, you will work with the team to constantly improve our power modeling and validation methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge in system architecture power and performance metrics for computer (CPU, GPU, memory, radio) technologies, battery powered devices, and power electronics
- Hands-on lab experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, analog circuits, and prototype rework
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience in consumer hardware or electronics industries.
- Hardware / software power analysis and optimization experience.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting (e.g. Matlab or Python), with the ability to process and analyze large datasets for power model development.
- Familiarity with battery modeling and management concepts.
- Familiarity with feedback and control systems.
- Understanding of statistical tools for field data analysis.
- Executive-level presentation experience.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
