Apple is seeking a System EE for MacBook Pro electrical & system design integration. The candidate will design, implement, test, and debug the electrical subsystem of the world's best professional notebook computers within a collaborative cross-functional team. Our engineers rely on skills in computer system architecture, schematic design, digital and analog circuits, power and voltage regulator integration, high speed signal integrity concepts, PCB design, bring up and system level troubleshooting to surprise and delight millions of customers.
Description
Day to day tasks involve electrical design (both schematic capture and PCB layout), simulation, bringup, debug, and validation for Macs. EE's are responsible for both schematic capture and coordinating layout of highly constrained multilayer PCBs including HDI and fine pitch BGAs. Routine responsibilities also include bring-up, validation, factory build support, and multi-disciplinary cross-functional collaboration and negotiation. We are looking for well-rounded candidates with a broad set of skill and interests, and the curiosity to dig deep wherever necessary to solve challenging problems. Opportunities exist to sample a variety of technology areas, and to remain general or specialize over time, developing domain expertise.

Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study. Strong EE fundamentals, grounded in a solid understanding of E&M physics and first principles with an understanding of computer / system architecture and the associated design tradeoffs.
- Working knowledge of design and validation requirements for common low-speed and high-speed digital interfaces: I2C/SMBus, SPMI, SPI, JTAG, I2S/TDM, USB, MIPI, PCIe, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, DDR Memory.
- Experience in circuit design for a variety of domains including power, digital, analog, high-speed communications, programmable logic, and/or wireless.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Schematic capture and constraint-driven PCB layout using Cadence tools or similar.
- Experience with PCB bringup and debug, including new or custom silicon, using standard EE lab equipment: Soldering, DMM, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer.
- Experience with complex data analysis, data visualization and script development.

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,900 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
