Description
As a Reliability Engineer, you will identify high risk failure modes early in the design life cycle, and collaborate with design engineering teams to reduce the risk. You will develop new tests based on the physics of failure and expected user behaviors, and deliver test equipment and specifications that are critical to validate the product reliability, and work with vendors to meet reliability requirements. Finally, you will support failure analysis, providing the design direction based on your evaluation of the test data. You possess extraordinary problem solving abilities: - Strong understanding of the physics behind material and device properties (mechanical, electrical, and optical) - Adept in statistical data analysis and clear reporting - Strong theoretical understanding in physical failure analysis such as SEM/EDX These other skills are advantageous: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong attention to detail - Ability to handle multiple projects at once - Ability to complete tests and resolve problems in an unattended manner - Flexibility to accept new tasks - Dynamic and "can do" attitude with the dream to work with a great team and product

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in technical field (engineering, physics, etc)
- 3-5+ years of experience in an engineering role
- Collaborative attitude and ability to cross-functionally work effectively
- Good written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate through email, WebEx, and phone
- Ability to make clear and concise slides and presentations through keynote, excel, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and curiosity of how technologies work
- Able to use basic productivity apps such as email, web browser, calendar, WebEx/Zoom, spreadsheet, keynote/ppt, etc.
- Ability to travel internationally without restriction
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field
- Statistical experience such as Weibull, JMP, or familiarity with accelerated test models
- Familiar with Failure Analysis techniques (Optical Microscopy, X-ray/CT, Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy, etc.), and the ability to use failure analysis methodology to derive a root cause of failure
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
