This role will require working cross-functionally with hardware and software engineering teams across Apple. This individual will be tasked with managing allocations and configuring hardware used for software development and automation systems internally at Apple. This will include triaging and debugging problems that include automation infrastructure errors and failures. The perfect candidate can identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, while managing a large inventory of devices. They will also be asked to develop programmatic insights and solutions to our automation systems.

Description

- Managing hardware allocations and distribution for teams within a software engineering organization - Balancing real vs. perceived needs and managing inventory to meet organizational needs - Maintaining an accurate and detailed hardware allocation database and library of hardware - Effectively identifying and communicating program-level challenges and constraints - Configuring and adding hardware to an automation lab - Helping to triage issues with development hardware and automation lab infrastructure

Minimum Qualifications

  • Outstanding hardware & software debugging and troubleshooting skills are a must
  • 3+ years of experience with UNIX-like systems, comfortable working from the command line
  • 3+ years of experience with test engineering and the software development lifecycles
  • In-depth expertise of Apple product lifecycles
  • Able to maintain a large inventory with high accuracy
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical information to many different teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience scripting in Python or shell languages
  • Experience writing SQL queries
  • Experience in aggregating and analyzing data in Splunk
  • Ability to use Ansible to configure automated infrastructure

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
