The team is responsible for managing Apple's Real Estate and Non-Real Estate across multiple lines of business. The team is passionate about driving global standardization, optimizing processes and systems, and developing a governance framework for rock-solid compliance and meaningful reporting across USGAAP and local GAAP books and records. The lease accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, accounting for all worldwide leases and USGAAP lease disclosures and will support Local GAAP lease accounting as appropriate.

Description
• Each quarter, prepare, consolidate & analyse Global lease disclosures for 90+ divisions in compliance with ASC842. Interpret unusual trends and apply critical thinking, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of lease activity. • Interpret and implement lease accounting policies. • Complete month and quarter-end close activities, including preparation & posting of journal entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and flux analysis. • Support SOX, Audit, and SEC tasks related to lease accounting and general ledger activities. • Build and foster strong relationships across Apple with key Real Estate and non-real Estate Business teams, Technical & Corporate Accounting and Business Assurance & Compliance. • Assist with preparing and compiling audit PBCs and IPE provided to Apple's external auditors to support the annual audit of Apple's financial statements. • Identify, plan, and implement process improvements to improve key deliverables' quality, efficiency, and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of Accounting experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent SAP knowledge or equivalent ERP experience
- Lease system experience such as Tririga, Visual Lease, Costar etc.
- Knowledge and application of lease accounting including ASC 842, ASC 840, IFRS 16 & Local GAAP
- Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Excel are necessary
- Tableau/Dataiku reporting skill
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting
- Effective team player who likes to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, as well as presentation skills.
- Mature, responsible, driven, and able to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively across the organization and with external partners.
- Detailed and meticulous, outstanding attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possess a real passion for process improvement with an approach that urges innovation, elimination of non-value-added work, and efficiency improvements.
