Description
Review flexible printed circuit designs to ensure high reliability and compatibly with supplier processes and system design needs. Support development of automated ECAD and DRC checks based on field learnings. Develop automated tools to improve the efficiency of the design review and manufacturing process. Drive technology development efforts at FPC CMs to achieve product design goals. Manage yield and reliability performance of suppliers in NPI phases and drive improvement efforts. Lead failure analysis and corrective action efforts for reliability, yield, or field failures. Develop novel material or design concepts to achieve product design goals. Educate cross-functional team mates about FPC process and design fundamentals, capabilities, and limitations Audit vendor manufacturing processes and data for potential design or quality issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 or more years of research or process development experience in an applicable field and
- familiarity with the properties and process used in microelectronics fabrication and FPC assembly.
- BS or MS in engineering, material science or applicable field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the properties and process used in microelectronics fabrication and FPC assembly.
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team to define requirements and suitable metrics for the performance of new products and process.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage and deliver results in a pure development role.
- Proficiency with one or more programming language including Python, C++, Rust, Swift, and/or JavaScript
- Experience with scripting, development or advance use of EDA tools for PCB or FPC analysis.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
