The Occupational Health team has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, Ergonomics role supporting the SCV location. As a key member of the Occupational Health team, this position will be responsible for implementing, sustaining and developing Apple's Ergonomics program, and supporting occupational health and safety initiatives at this location. Providing high quality, innovative services while working in a fast paced, high energy, team-oriented environment. The preferred candidate will have varied ergonomics experience, including industrial, lab, and office. This position reports to the Ergonomics program manager. The candidate should demonstrate an ability to work on their own initiatives, have demonstrated strong technical ergonomics skills, be capable of project management, possess strong interpersonal skills and have an ability to work collaboratively with teams based at different locations.

Description
This role will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations and implementation of the Ergonomics program at the SCV location. The successful candidate will continually anticipate opportunities for process improvement, and be able to effectively communicate the benefits of program improvements. Responsibilities will include: Develop, implement, and drive engagement of the Ergonomics Program across office and industrial settings. Conduct in-person and remote ergonomics risk assessments and evaluations in office and industrial settings. Review and complete ergonomics support requests, ensuring they are serviced in a timely manner consistent with the Ergonomics Program. Work with the Ergonomics program manager to ensure customer satisfaction, lead-time, and product quality are acceptable. Review and assess program compliance with local regulations. Perform office ergonomics evaluations, risk assessments, conduct group training and workshops, and aid in the development and marketing of the Ergonomics Program. Conduct industrial ergonomics risk assessments, project support, and solution development for non-office workplace environments (e.g., labs, recycles, shipping/receiving, caffe). Respond to service requests from customers as the needs for solutions, products, and technology change. Help ensure customer satisfaction, lead-time, and product quality are acceptable. Provide employee education and coaching in safe work practices to prevent injury and illness. Work with engineering and design teams to develop solutions to identified ergonomics challenges. Develop and maintain metrics and key performance indicators, which demonstrate program activities and effectiveness. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of preferred ergonomics tools and alternative equipment solutions. Anticipate opportunities for program innovation and process improvement/efficiencies. Travel as required in support of regional locations
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years experience providing ergonomics services and conducting ergonomics risk assessments to a variety of work environments (e.g., office, lab, warehouse, and manufacturing)
- Knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, musculoskeletal anatomy, and ergonomics engineering principles.
- Familiarity with quantitative ergonomics risk-assessment techniques. Experience using measurement tools and use of various evaluation methods (e.g., RULA, REBA, NIOSH Lift Equation, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team, and communicate successfully with health and safety professionals, management teams, and workforce.
- Ability to effectively work across a broad spectrum of business functions.
- Good problem solving skills with ability to develop new ideas in order to provide innovative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Human Factors and Ergonomics, Biomechanics, Industrial Engineering, Kinesiology, or related Engineering or Science degree.
- Certification in Ergonomics is preferred (e.g., CEES, CEAS, AOEE, etc.); professional certification (e.g., CPE/CIE) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, concise, and technically correct written work products and reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, analytical, and influencing/interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to initiate and sustain productive business relationships.
- Excellent project management skills, including the identification and scheduling of project deliverables, milestones, tasks, and deadlines.
- Proven presentation skills with ability to present technical information and concepts in a clear and concise manner virtually and in-person.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $107,300 and $161,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
