Description

The Human Engineering Software team works closely with many teams around the company to build powerful multi-platform tools, with a particular focus on user studies for new products. We are looking for a world-class Engineer who is passionate about operational excellence through automation and engineering processes. In this role, you will ensure seamless integration of development and operations while managing sensitive health data securely and efficiently , adhering to the highest standards of availability, scalability, and compliance. You will provide end-to-end technical support for study teams, manage infrastructure (physical and virtual), ensure system uptime, and drive continuous improvements. Responsibilities: Technical Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between technical teams (e.g., engineering, security, product) and non-technical departments (e.g., user research, executive leadership). Requirements Gathering and Synthesis: Elicit, analyze, and document technical requirements from various stakeholders, translating them into clear and concise specifications for technical teams. Device Management: Setup devices (including MacBooks), configuring access to systems and applications, and ensuring adherence to security protocols. Network and Security Administration: Implement and maintain basic network security measures, including configuring firewalls and VPNs, managing user access controls, and promoting security best practices. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences through presentations, documentation, and one-on-one interactions. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve technical and communication challenges. Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations or individuals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a strong focus on teamwork.
  • Experience managing communications between multiple teams
  • Experience with Unix based command line interfaces
  • Experience with architecting complex systems, including firewalls, virtual networks, encryption, storage servers, and cloud services
  • Analytical & problem solving skills, ability to communicate ideas clearly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Past experience with implementing data encryption or other data privacy mechanisms

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
