Apple's Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) team is looking for an exceptional Engineering Program Manager on our Governance team who will support process and analytic solutions in accordance with regulatory expectations. They are expected to lead across multiple functional teams to conceptualize, enhance, test, validate, and deliver products and processes. This work requires continuous problem solving, in-depth knowledge of financial regulations, rapid learning, excellent communication, and attention to detail. Engineering Program Managers also require a high level of discipline, patience, and self-awareness as you work with many different business and engineering teams. Most importantly, SDS Engineering Program Managers allow Apple to continue to provide extraordinary service to each and every one of its customers.

Description

• Maintain thorough knowledge of financial regulations, governance lifecycle, risk assessment, and audit/exam requirements • Work closely with our team of quantitative business analysts, machine learning engineers, and software engineers to document systems and processes, test and validate existing systems, and respond to governance requests or requirements. • Set best practices engineering requirements for governance needs, including completeness and accuracy, risk-based requirements, developing relevant monitoring and controls, validation and testing, and supporting Model Risk Management. • Develop partnerships with key business leaders across a variety of teams at Apple, including finance, corporate compliance, corporate legal, privacy, operations, engineering, and corporate security • Develop and deliver new, critical initiatives E2E: - translate stakeholder needs into business requirements - develop engineering requirements that satisfy business and regulatory requirements - develop project plans and work with internal and external engineering teams to build and launch features or enhancements for governance needs - support sustaining operations, enhancements, and documentation • Effectively communicate project status, roadblocks, executive updates, and regulatory changes; communicate effectively with various levels of the organization and shift rapidly between communication styles • Use good judgment and know when to update and seek guidance from team members, partners, and leadership. • Experience leading successfully in uncertain and changing environments with competing priorities and minimal resourcing or formal structure. • Example activities include: - Creating documentation of systems and decisioning models for regulatory requests - Responding to second line, third line, enterprise risk, and internal audit partners for system walk-throughs - Establishing best practices and processes; writing and updating procedures; developing and running testing/validation plans; contributing to policy updates where necessary - Planning and driving regulatory cross-functional projects (these include system enhancements, control updates, monitoring implentation, or new features) with business and engineering partners - Facilitating change management, model risk, and incident management initiatives, processes, and risk assessments - Delivering regular business and testing/validation updates to leadership

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS / MS in finance, business, or technical field
  • Experience in financial regulatory compliance, governance, or model risk management required
  • Experience in payments, fraud, finance, or financial crimes regulatory compliance technical systems desired
  • 3+ years work experience as a program or project manager in financial crimes regulatory compliance field
  • 3+ years work experience leading successful, high-impact technical projects ideal
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to connect with individuals at all levels and develop partnerships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead change through positive influence of co-workers, leadership, and business partners
  • Ability to grasp the technical details of complex engineering and analytic issues and provide in-depth evaluations
  • Inquisitiveness and a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skill
  • Experience testing/validation technical systems on behalf of a financial regulatory body
