Engineering Program Managers on our Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) team deliver process and analytic solutions that have a strategic impact on Apple. They drive decision automation using machine learning that allows Apple to execute with greater speed, control, efficiency, and scale. They help realize business opportunity and balance operational trade-offs through machine learning. They are expected to lead across multiple functional teams to conceptualize, build, and deliver these automated and forensic decisions. These decisions require continuous problem solving, rapid learning, excellent communication, and an innovative mindset. Engineering Program Managers also require a high level of discipline, patience, and self-awareness as you work with many different business and engineering teams. Most importantly, SDS Engineering Program Managers allow Apple to continue to provide extraordinary service to each and every one of its customers.

Description

• Work closely with our team of quantitative business analysts, machine learning engineers, software engineers • Develop partnerships with key business leaders across a variety of teams at Apple, to include finance, corporate compliance, corporate legal, operations, engineering, and corporate security • Develop and deliver new, critical initiatives E2E: • translate stakeholder needs into business requirements • develop engineering requirements that satisfy business requirements • lead internal sprint and cross-functional partner meetings • develop project plans and work with internal and external engineering teams to build and launch new decision points, integrations, infrastructure, and analytics • support sustaining operations, enhancements, and documentation • Identify new business opportunities and support architecture development while balancing impact, cost, resourcing, timeline, likelihood of success, and analytic risk • Effectively communicate project status, roadblocks, executive updates, and analytic results; communicate effectively with various levels of the organization and shift rapidly between communication styles • Work independently, grasp new concepts quickly, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity • Use good judgment and know when to update and seek guidance from team members, partners, and leadership. • Experience leading successfully in uncertain and changing environments with competing priorities and minimal resourcing or formal structure. • Example activities include: • Planning and driving cross-functional projects with business and engineering partners • Driving internal development projects • Facilitating change management initiatives • Delivering regular business and engineering updates to leadership

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS / MS in technical or finance field (engineering, math, computer science, or similar)
  • Experience in payments, fraud, finance, or financial crimes regulatory compliance technical systems desired
  • 3+ years work experience as a program or project manager
  • 3+ years work experience leading successful, high-impact technical projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to connect with individuals at all levels and develop partnerships

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead change through positive influence of co-workers, leadership, and business partners
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to grasp the technical details of complex engineering and analytic issues and provide in-depth evaluations
  • Knowledge of technical project management standard methodologies, including Agile
  • Inquisitiveness and a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skill
