Description
Our team thrives by creating developer-facing solutions in a multi-functional environment. We focus our work on building public APIs, MapKit Native and MapKit JS, as well as various tools powering our developer ecosystem. This role offers opportunity to take new features from ideation through design and implementation, and even possibly partnering to announce them at Apple's Developer Conference! The qualified candidate will combine technical expertise and people management skills to help our team create outstanding API's and developer experiences for wide range of users. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL AMONG OTHER THINGS: - Manage and guide an existing team of Native and Web engineers through life-cycle deliveries across multiple timezones - Partner directly with clients such as Find My, Weather, Photos, and other 3rd party developers - Lead key software initiatives, guiding multiple engineers across the Maps organization - Collaborate with product managers to define the API roadmap, prioritize features, and align with business objectives and corporate philosophies

Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of engineering expertise, at least two of which in a lead or management role
- Consistent track record of architecting, developing, releasing and supporting important software components
- Proficiency in C++, Objective-C, Swift, HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with Continuous Integration, Delivery & Testing tools and processes
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide teams through ambiguous and complex technical challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex problems clearly and succinctly
- Passion to collaborate and iterate on ideas in a multi-functional team
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in CS or related technical field
- Experience with API design and/or building software components for use by external teams
- Experience mentoring direct reports to help them advance in their career and navigate through challenges and goals
- Familiarity with SwiftUI, UIKit, React and/or Node.js
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
