Description

As an engineering manager within the Content Platform Engineering team, you will work with individuals across multiple disciplines within Apple. Due to the cross-functional nature of our work, the ideal candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills. You'll guide your team to make optimal decisions - balancing risk, reward, growth, short and long term goals. You'll act as a role model demonstrating responsible, pragmatic, and innovative problem solving techniques. You'll represent your team cross functionally, working with other teams across Apple as we advance our tools. The candidate must be technically strong, have a strong track record of leading projects, and experience shipping software. The candidate needs to show initiative, take ownership of a number of technical areas, and assume responsibility for leading all the related aspects that need to be coordinated to achieve success. The candidate should also be able to make intelligent choices when taking into consideration product-level constraints on system performance, privacy, and security. Most importantly, you love working with people, supporting those around you, and mentoring and growing engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience and passion for managing a small team
  • Strong track record of leading and shipping projects
  • Possess excellent analytical, programming, and debugging skills
  • Have in-depth knowledge of distributed systems and cloud based solutions
  • Experience programming in Golang, Java, or Typescript, and an advocate for software development best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Pegasus and Siri systems
  • Understanding of IP deliverables and current CMS systems
  • Succeed in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while driving multiple projects
  • Laser-focused on customer impact with attention to the smallest details that are meaningful to our customers
  • Obsessively passionate and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
