Description
This role entails leading a dynamic team tasked with developing an innovative data engineering platform for big data workloads across Apple. This system is designed to optimize on-time delivery of critical data workloads, while minimizing resource usage and maximizing engineer productivity. A key aspect of this position involves fostering collaborative partnerships with various platform teams to ensure a seamless data integration process. As a technical leader, the successful candidate will be encouraged to establish and maintain strong working relationships with Directors, as well as with peers across multiple engineering disciplines, contributing teams, and key stakeholders. Furthermore, a significant responsibility of this role includes nurturing the growth and development of engineers within the team. This involves creating opportunities for enhancing their technical capabilities, refining their leadership skills, and continuing the cultivation of a high-caliber, innovative engineering culture.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar area.
- Experience and passion for managing a small cross functional team.
- Strong track record of running and shipping SW projects.
- Possess excellent analytical, programming, and debugging skills.
- Have in-depth knowledge of a strongly typed language.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and passion for mentoring and developing software engineers.
- Hands on experience with big data architectures and technologies at scale.
- Succeed in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while deftly driving multiple projects across many teams.
- Laser-focused on customer impact with attention to the smallest details that are meaningful to our customers.
- Obsessively passionate and inquisitive, and seek to continuously improve and solve everyday problems in innovative ways.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $272,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
