The Real Estate, Design & Merchandising (RDM) team create and care for Apple Stores that look, feel, and function as beautifully as our products. We do this by obsessing over the employee and customer experience, and driving a global strategy that sets the bar. The Design Team is responsible to develop design solutions to support Apple's Retail development needs, ensuring the highest quality architectural design and Brand impact at sites across the world. The EMEIA Design Associate is responsible for managing internal and external partners in order to deliver Apple Retail projects for the EMEIA region that represent company values and meet quality expectations.

Description

Manage a diverse team of design professionals, work on complex project issues of diverse scope requiring knowledge of conditions and evaluation of various factors, including design intent, budget and schedule limitations, construction feasibility, building code and regulatory requirements. - Develop concept designs into innovative and constructible projects, overseeing architectural, mechanical and structural teams. - Understand and interpret local building codes, integrating comprehensive design solutions compliant with local and regional laws. - Identify technically challenging project conditions, and develop solutions to read consistently within a constantly evolving design vocabulary. - Review and comment on design and construction documents, maintaining design standards and developing project unique conditions. - Assist Real Estate and Development teams to establish project schedules and initial budget assumptions. - Visit project sites and perform construction surveys. - Manage internal approval process at multiple phases throughout project. - Organize, update, and archive all project documentation. - Work with cross functional partners to create, manage, and implement fleet wide initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of design management within the retail, architectural or construction industries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to work effectively with a wide range of design, construction, and technology specialists.
  • Bachelors degree in Architecture or Design, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Familiarity with common industry architectural software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to develop meaningful internal and external partnerships.
  • Excellent organization skills, problem solving skills.
  • Experience meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a quick learner and self starter who is comfortable working independently.
  • Understanding of Mac OS and Mac software such as Keynote, Numbers and Pages.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $85,700 and $129,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
