You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we'll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras. The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of camera hardware for all related Apple products. Our target is to deliver superior camera hardware to enable the best-in-class camera user experience. Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following: • Lead electrical architecture, design and implementation for camera sub-system. Determine component level requirements, develop schematic, supervise layout, simulation and validation for innovative camera modules containing image sensors, microcontrollers, low-noise power supplies, AF/OIS drivers, and high-speed serial interfaces. • Lead and direct cross-functional teams to resolve critical signal and power integrity, De-sense and CoEX issues. • Author clear and comprehensive electrical documentation for architecture, design, simulation, validation and mass production. • Collaborate with X-functional teams to simulate, test, and validate performance of all designs. • Develop electronic prototypes for new camera features and product concepts. • Occasional travel may be required, but is not a critical component of this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in relevant field (EE, CS) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of hardware development cycle including architecture, design and development, and verification
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design including signal and power integrity analysis (High-speed design, PDN analysis)
  • System integration knowledge for EMI, EMC and ESD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of circuit design and layout strategies for Substrates, Rigid PCB, Flex, or Rigid-Flex including good understanding of material selection, Stack-up planning and noise suppression
  • Strong experience with high-speed interfaces : MIPI, DisplayPort, HDMI, PCIE etc, circuits and designs : LDO, Buck, ADC, DAC, Op-AMP, etc., and control interface like I2C, SPI, SPMI, UART, etc
  • Experience with prototyping new tech, conducting design of experiments, analytical data processing and hands-on lab experience with hardware bring-up and debug
  • Experience with high volume consumer electronics design for manufacturing, testing and reliability (DFM, DFT, DFR)
  • Knowledge of CMOS image sensor, ISP or image processing
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills focused on teamwork and collaboration in a dynamic cross-functional environment
  • Integration of hardware into multi-functional systems (De-sense and CoEX) and familiarity with the challenges of taking a product from design through to production

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
