Apple's Health team is looking for an experienced editorial leader to work alongside clinical experts and extraordinary technologists to help people understand their health. A successful candidate will bring creative vision and leadership.
Description
The Deputy Editor will develop, create and edit written content, as well as leading and planning an editorial calendar. In this role, you will be responsible for executing and ensuring the consistency of the voice and tone, overseeing writers, fact-checkers and copy editors. A successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and skilled communicator with a consistent track record of planning and executing with a highly collaborative team. Responsibilities include: - Manage a team of editors and writers, and coordinate writing assignments - Hands-on editing for all written material as well as original writing of some stories - Maintain and lead the editorial calendar - Oversee the budget and production logistics for content - Run fact-checking and copy editing - Work very closely with the clinical team as the basis for expertise in our content - Focus on diversifying the experiences reflected on our platforms - Flexible and comfortable with ambiguity and change during a project

Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years as an editorial leader
- Deep experience as a health journalist with a passion for the space
- Strong communication skills, with a penchant for working closely with other teams including data, design, category experts, and engineering
- Established network of writers and editors to call upon
- Can supervise the workflow for many projects at once
- Used to delivering on time and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Known for high-quality work that is accurate and authoritative
- Work enthusiastically with a highly collaborative team in an iterative design process, inspired by group critique
- Has a passion for Apple, its products, and its customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced user of content management systems
- Comfortable with and versed in legal vetting process of content
- Open-minded about a diverse array of feedback and able to synthesize to get to the best answer to a problem
- Deeply entrepreneurial, looking for new ways to tell stories
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $208,100 and $312,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
