Description

The Core Firmware team is seeking an engineering manager to lead a team of firmware and systems software engineers responsible for extending and improving the performance, cross-product consistency, and general user experience of Apple firmware. The team are responsible for securely loading Apple operating systems and OS updaters. Additionally, the team develop firmware-based solutions that help users continue to leverage iPhone and Apple Watch features such as Find My, Express Transit Card, and digital key fob when battery levels are too low to run the OS. As a leader of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with world-class engineers who are improving the user experience for all Apple products.
  • Experience leading a software-development team
  • Experience with firmware, device-driver, and/or kernel-level development
  • Proven track record of delivering software aligned with project and program schedules
  • History of setting aggressive yet attainable goals and motivating teams to achieve them
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of modern processor architectures and supporting hardware
  • Experience with real-time operating systems
