Apple's Biophotonics group is seeking an enthusiastic data engineer to collaborate with an R&D team developing a new generation of bio-sensing technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining data pipelines to prepare clinical data for analysis.

Description

Own the secure clinical data platform for all of Biophotonics' studies Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain data pipelines and data processing tools Work with other Apple teams to understand and implement data governance policies Collaborate to develop and maintain study monitoring and analysis tools Develop requirements in conjunction with analysts, SW engineers and other stakeholders Support clinical studies with a range of sizes and complexities Detect inefficiencies; optimize processes and data flows Write and maintain unit tests and CI to maintain high data integrity and consistency

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience in data engineering
  • Experience programming in Python
  • MATLAB and SQL experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in data engineering on AWS or GCP platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to perform independent and high quality data engineering with >100 TB of data
  • Excellent communicator/facilitator within and between groups
  • Experience working with clinical or human study data
  • Familiarity with one or more of: Medrio EDC, Hadoop, Spark, Docker, Artifactory,AirFlow
  • Familiarity with signal processing

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
