Do you love taking on big challenges that require exceptionally creative solutions? Do you deeply understand how an incredible camera experience should work? As part of our Camera Technologies group, you'll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You'll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we'll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras. The Camera Systems Engineering Group is responsible for the systems-level analysis, design and development of new camera features and technologies for performance enhancement. The team is seeking an exceptional sensing systems engineer with broad skills to lead product and technology development projects.

Description
• Define position sensing system architectures, use-case requirements, specifications, and validation criteria and document in Engineering Requirements Specifications. • Design and model position sensing systems behaviorally to predict performance over nominal, sensitivity, and Monte-Carlo analyses. • Perform/champion sensing system engineering validation with partner teams. • Contribute to development, implementation, and maintenance of test and calibration codebase for sensing systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in EE, ECE, Engineering Physics, or similar.
- Experience with magnetic or optical or capacitive or inductive or similar analog signal chain.
- Experience with Electrical Engineering (EE) fundamentals including: analog and digital or 'mixed-signal' electronics, and signal processing.
- Experience in high-level programming languages (MATLAB or Python or similar) for modeling, data analysis, sensor calibration, signal processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing behavioral models of sensing system signal chains in tools like MATLAB.
- Experience with statistical data analysis tools like JMP for high volume manufacturing data analysis.
- Experience with magneto-static simulations using Finite Element Analysis tools like ANSYS or COMSOL or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal skills - the ability to collaborate across groups. Self-motivated, able to lead projects independently.
- Demonstrated ability to connect use-case requirements to system-level specification and document requirements in Engineering Requirements Specifications.
- Familiarity with camera, CMOS image sensor technology, optics, and control systems.
- Experience with measurement science, calibration, and physical modeling.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
