We are the Image Quality team in Video Engineering and are responsible for video quality on iPhone/iPad, Mac products and Vision Pro RGB camera quality testing! We are seeking an outstanding Camera Image Quality Engineer who has a good understanding of lab image quality test automation and real world image quality verification to help us deliver the best camera image quality to the world.

Description

As a Camera Image Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding our image quality performance metrics and developing the robust and reliable automation framework to measure performance results based on lab environments. You will be also responsible for real world camera image quality verification, find algorithm bugs and do initial analysis and triaging. You will work with our development team directly and help design test strategies on video features for camera products. You will actively participate in quality evaluations for new features and algorithms, through experimental studies both in the lab and in the field and provide direct feedback to the engineering teams. You will summarize the findings and present to cross functional teams, including some executive demos. In this role, you'll be a critical part of a fast-paced, collaborative team and who thrive in a high energy, time-constrained, multitasking environment to significantly impact our image quality.
  • MS in Image Science, Color Science, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 3 years of image quality experience
  • Strong knowledge of subjective/objective image quality evaluation
  • Strong knowledge of ISP pipeline and 3A evaluation
  • Experience in lab testing and real world testing environments
  • Experience and proficiency in MATLAB or Python
  • Focus on details and possess strong problem solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong image/video photography skills
  • Experience and proficiency in C/C++
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate and work cross functionally

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
