As part of the Camera Silicon Architecture team, you'll help design innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to explore, define and drive the development of next-generation camera silicon chipset architectures. The Camera Silicon Architecture team develops innovative silicon solutions and technologies for Apple's products, including the iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, Vision Pro and more. The key goal of the team is to continue to push the envelope of performance and capabilities of the world's most popular cameras. New challenges arise every day that require the sharp problem-solving skills of versatile and thoughtful individuals. The team features a collaborative and hands-on environment that fosters engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation.

Description

As a Camera Chipset Architect, responsibilities include: • Participate in cross-functional teams to explore, define and drive the development of next-generation camera silicon chipset architectures • Represent the Camera Silicon Architecture team in product definition discussions covering HW/FW and SW flows of camera based features/functions • Perform system level modeling of early concepts to explore architectural options/investigations • Own and develop Chipset Architecture Requirements Specifications backed up by simulation and analysis during concept phase • Partner with development leaders of each chip to ensure system level architectural requirements/features are correctly covered in each component requirement specification • Review plans and participate in validation planning and validation testing to ensure end-to-end compliance of each component • Support system bring-up and debug at all stages of development through to final product level integration • Travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related fields
  • Experience in chip-level specification definition/ownership
  • System design experience including custom chip development

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20+ years of front-end chip design experience (RTL and/or Schematic design entry)
  • Image sensor design or other related chip development experience
  • Silicon level experience developing/specifying interface protocols or other high-speed signaling technologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in image processing or other signal processing domain
  • Prior experience in Cryptography/Encryption algorithms
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
