We use a gas gauge (aka battery gauge) to measure battery and environmental conditions and make predictions about present and future capacity. We test the integration of hardware, software, firmware, and algorithms and help drive the quality of future Apple products. You will be testing, automating, and analyzing detailed results along with working closely with cross- functional teams to ensure product quality. Description
We are looking for someone to develop, design and run tests for battery powered products. You'll be responsible for validating the battery technologies on Apple products from a user experience perspective throughout their development lifecycle, from early prototypes to post-release phases. You'll develop automation and analysis tools as required as well as analyze data and present to cross-functional partner teams. Key responsibilities include: - Develop and run battery technology test plans with primary focus on customer experience - Review existing test coverage and identify areas for improvement - Triage, debug and conduct in-depth battery analysis of software, hardware and system issues - Apply data-driven expertise and deep engineering knowledge to influence program decisions. - Collaborate and provide cross functional teams with detailed status and progress throughout the development cycle - Evaluate existing tools and opportunities to incorporate new tools into the testing process
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science field and 3+ years of experience
- 3+ years of programming experience in Python and/or C/C++
- Experience in automation and testing consumer products
Preferred Qualifications
- An ambition to learn battery technologies
- Strong working knowledge of UNIX-like operating systems
- Ability to write high quality test plans
- Ability to think creatively, problem solve, and innovate
- Solid debugging experience and ability to investigate and triage complex problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
