This position contributes to the development and qualification of advanced lithium ion battery technology for portable power consumer applications. You will work with internal multi-functional teams to develop battery firmware, algorithm and battery management system (BMS) qualification protocols using system requirements, user profiles and the battery health monitoring estimation models to ensure high level of customer experience. You will collaborate with BMS firmware and algorithm engineers to improve the quality, productivity, and efficiency of Apple products.

Description
You will be a part of a team qualifying new class of BMS algorithms and architectures to improve the utility of batteries of Apple products. In this position you will be expected to: - use a combination of advanced electrical and chemical engineering and mathematics to validate the performance of BMS algorithms. - develop simulation and physical tests to validate state of charge and state of power of battery systems. - develop verification methods to detect battery abnormalities early in advance in product design process. - review and analyze qualification data, flag and report anomalous qualification output and perform failure analysis to identify root cause for deviation, and provide risk
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent job-related experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in Battery Management System (BMS) Algorithm/Firmware/Software development or validation
- Experience with Python or C/C++
- Experience in working on electrical circuits
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-year experience in BMS Algorithm/Firmware/Software development or validation
- Experience with detailed Lithium-ion battery modeling
- Experience with time-series data analysis
- Critical thinking skills
- Trouble shooting skills
- Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills
- Ability total action and drive results on tight schedules
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and cross-functional teams
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
