The Audio and Media Technologies team provides the audio, video, and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPod, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, iTunes, and macOS, as well as professional and consumer applications from Final Cut, Logic and iWork. The Audio & Media Technologies (AMT) team provides the audio foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone/iPad, iPod, Apple TV, Apple Watch, macOS, and the new VisionOS, as well as developer support via numerous system frameworks. The team is seeking an experienced triage engineer to work closely with the audio driver engineering, build automation, and quality assurance teams to help us understand, reproduce and characterize incoming bugs, decide actionable steps, assign to appropriate engineers, and develop new triage methods and tools to solve challenging debug problems.

Description
As a software triage engineer on the audio driver and firmware development team you will triage incoming bugs, analyze logs, understand and find your way through the source code, determine priority of issues and most importantly focus on automating and improving this process as much as possible. You must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a knack for solving problems creatively. You'll be working in a dynamic environment, facing exciting new challenges daily. We are seeking someone who is passionate about improving the quality of the audio experience for our customers and our developers.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience
- Have great problem-solving skills, analytical, tools & development experience, and ability to evaluate and identify issues at a code level
- Understanding of core OS concepts like multi-threading, memory management, power management
- Excellent written/verbal skills. Able to summarize key points and to work with others to cut through ambiguity and bring issues to resolution
- Thrives in a dynamic, collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- BS or MS in CS, EE, or related work experience
- Experience in shell scripting (Python, Bash or similar) and system languages (C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, or similar)
- Understanding of audio technologies, applications and real-time audio systems
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $128,300 and $237,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
