Our team is looking for a Quality Engineer to join the AppleCare Product Platforms & Performances team to support planning, crafting, scheduling, coordinating, and driving tests for projects in the AppleCare On-Device channel. As a Quality Engineer, you will be tasked with working along side project PMs, developers and testers across multiple teams and organizations to ensure we deliver outstanding products and experiences for our customers while continuously improving testing practices.

Description

You will perform the duties of a quality engineer to regularly participate in the release of system improvements or new functionalities from development to production, and continuously validate production instances and development roots for bugs. You are encouraged to plan, execute and report on end-to-end test activities, provide timely and detailed feedback to engineering or design teams, and participate in post release/change reviews. The candidate should be able to work with engineering and product teams to develop test approaches, facilitate creation of test cases, and test scripts on multiple projects of varying sizes. They should be able to build and maintain, or contribute to a testing knowledge repository for the AppleCare Product Platforms and Performances team. You will also work to continuously improve testing best practices and methods, and report on testing metrics including SLAs and KPIs. The candidate should be able to support multi-functional teams leading up to, during and after the launch of each OS release, and assist in the management of the Live-on program.   • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with multiple partners
  • 3+ years of related hands-on experience in scripting and quality engineering/testing work
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and ability to look beyond the obvious
  • Demonstrated experience supporting engineering teams to diagnose issues
  • Confirmed bug detection and regression skills
  • Consistent track record of driving QA testing activities
  • Experience testing on Mac OS, iOS/iPadOS (mobile apps)
  • Must have a confirmed understanding of SQA methodologies and practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and managing test automation frameworks
  • 5+ years of related hands-on experience in scripting and quality engineering
  • Solid experience working with remote teams situated in different time zones (onsite & offshore teams)
  • Experience testing on visionOS, cloud based technologies a plus
  • Hands-on development experience
  • Prior experience with leading QA effort across multi-functional projects/team
