We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual to drive App Store Commerce capabilities and support the growth of the App Store and corresponding developer businesses. As a key member on App Store Commerce team, you will be responsible for working with our App Store Product and business teams to plan, strategize and grow the App Store Commerce platform for developers across the world. This role's perspective is developer-centric, where features and capabilities have the developer experience front and center - enabling them to build amazing customer experiences.

Description

As a developer advocate, you will have the unique opportunity to work internally with key decision makers while also engaging directly with 3rd party developers who use our platform capabilities. In this role you will bring a developer's perspective to our products, our developer tools, and shape the customer experience on the largest platform in the world. Communication & Collaboration - Spearhead projects and initiatives to improve developer experience, drive feature adoption, and guide developers towards the best technical solutions. - Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the globe, such as Engineering, Business Management, Product management, Program Management, and Developer Relations. - Bring the developer perspective and feedback to product teams to ensure tool and platform roadmaps are aligned with and include elements requested by developers. - Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate and articulate technical concepts to audiences from any technical background. - Be an assertive and vocal advocate for the App Store, helping to ensure local developers can take advantage of our feature offering. - Evaluate success of commerce features and present findings to App Store Management and Engineering teams. Project Development and Launch Readiness - Attend project meetings for new features, as needed across time zones. Review product specifications, designs, meeting notes, tickets and action items. - Review and prepare internal and external documentation to support developers at launch (guides, FAQs, support staff, etc). - Partner with internal teams on launch briefings related to technical implementation of App Store features. - Understand production and customer support processes and service levels related to developer and customer facing issues. - Identify, document and manage process for minor enhancements and bug fixes. Business and Developer Experience - Have a broad understanding of various software business models across the globe and the tools required to support those products in their mobile application and server backend. - Provide support to key developers involved in App Store launches as needed, building and then leveraging strong relationships with said developers. - Generating material to present to a wide array of audiences: from external 3rd party developers to internal engineering teams to product leadership. - Strong aptitude to understand the SDLC of a developer and what is required for them to adopt our platform capabilities - and bringing that to every feature in development and on the roadmap - Benchmark the tools and capabilities available to developers for other platforms. - Solicit feedback from the developer community and specific strategic developers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Skilled at helping developers identify, navigate and overcome technical or systematic complexities to drive adoption of new technology.
  • Speak fluidly to influence technical and non-technical decision makers
  • Excellent written, communication, and facilitation skills, with a focus on translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience presenting and engaging large audiences covering technically complex topics.
  • Experience managing and developing external relationships.
  • Experience leading multiple cross-functional technical projects in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as developer advocate and assisting senior developer leadership to adopt capabilities and overcome technical and systematic complexities to drive adoption of new technology.
  • Experience evangelizing new products and features to developers of all sizes and have the ability to influence technical and non-technical decision makers internally and externally.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and developing relationships within and outside their team.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with an international team.
  • Previous iOS development experience, including StoreKit.
  • Experience and knowledge of all aspects of global e-commerce ecosystem/platform including its inherent risks (e.g. fraud, payments, subscriptions) and issues (e.g. low conversion).

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
