As a Subject Matter Expert in the Advanced Process Lab within Manufacturing Design, you will be part of a team of driven, creative engineers to develop future anodized finishes. Working in our Silicon Valley lab, this is a hands on position, working side by side with your team members in the lab daily.

Description
You will be responsible for delivering color anodized finishes to very tight requirements. - Develop cosmetic anodizing processes, with particular attention to dye color formulation, color matching, and process optimization for maximum yields. - Ability to process technical data using statistical analysis - Ability to clearly communicate technical details to a broader team of colleagues and managers - Maintain lab space and equipment with diligence and cleanliness to properly upkeep environment in good working order. - This is not a remote work position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience developing cosmetic anodizing processes, including experience in matching color, gloss and texture to tight requirements.
- Strong understanding of color theory and color space (CIELAB, CIELCh), and instrumentation for color and gloss measurement required.
- 25% travel required
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrate ability to a handle fast moving environment with skill at focusing complex asks down to clear, aligned deliverables and project plans.
- Plating Experience and/or Electrochemical experience a bonus
- Ability to drive process development: define and test to part performance requirements & executing failure analysis
- Ability to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor
- Ability to plan, execute, and present results from investigations using statistical analysis and clearly communicated data and recommendations.
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, engineering, materials, or related discipline.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $122,300 and $184,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
