Description

The AIML Annotation Platform provides services for enabling privacy-focused data augmentation, annotation, curation and validation across all of Apples product portfolio. As a member of its data engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to work with highly skilled engineers to build reliable data pipelines, metrics and backend systems. Responsibilities include: Foster great software engineering practices. Produce, release and maintain reliable and performant code for metrics collection, collation and management. Deeply engage in architecture and code reviews, closely collaborate with your peers and ensure that the best ideas succeed. Build things people love. Work across team and organizational boundaries, build deep applicative expertise and cooperatively solve complex problems and challenges and ensure your solutions integrate seamlessly. Design and build interfaces and APIs that meet the diverse needs of our user base. Continuous growth. Continuously engage with industry and technology trends and development. Adopt technologies and solutions that help us build better data products and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (system design, OO, data structures and algorithms)
  • Experience designing, building, maintaining, and evolving cloud-based production ecosystems
  • Experience in Python, Go, Java
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, in particular AWS services (S3, RDS, Redshift)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experiencef
  • Background in statistical modeling, A/B testing, data analysis and evaluation
  • Experience in shipping scalable data streaming platforms at scale with high quality, high availability, high throughput and low latency
  • Expertise in databases systems, data modeling for relational and key/value/NoSQL storage engines
  • Experience with test-driven development, continuous integration and delivery
  • Ability to discuss technical tradeoffs across the engineering stack, including system architecture, database design, API design and infrastructure
  • A learning attitude to continuously improve yourself and help the team grow
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to mentor other engineers and level up those around you

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
