We are looking for an outstanding candidate to become a member of the Measurement team and help own and drive part of our technical portfolio for Apple Intelligence.
Description
We are seeking an experienced engineer, applied ML practitioner or data scientist to own several highly visible initiatives in the Measurement team of Apple's artificial intelligence IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: - Partner with several engineering groups to build tooling, processes, and methodologies to automatically understand and improve Apple products and services - Engage in research on the development of data collection systems that enable training and evaluation of generative AI systems while preserving privacy. - Partner with the head of the Measurement org to drive several research projects and prototype applications to gauge appropriateness for larger investment - Use LLMs to optimize resource allocation and measure the quality of generative AI models, products, and services. Successful candidates will need to have a passion for user privacy and superb communication skills with an ability to influence at all levels of the organization, from junior engineers to Sr. Directors and SVPs. Creative problem solving, analytical, and deductive reasoning skills are critical for this position. You will be working on multiple unrelated systems each week, so the ability to learn quickly and an excitement for new things is a must. You must be comfortable with ambiguity and a complex cross-functional environment, requiring relentless collaboration and laser focus on outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience leading strategic technical projects with multiple stakeholders and directing work of other engineers and/or data scientists or as a technical lead
- Strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to solve complex problems independently
- Experience with foundation models, including training and evaluation
- Programming experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for customer privacy
- Ph D in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent experience
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
