The Bolt platform sits at the center of Apple's internal machine learning ecosystem, enabling access to the latest accelerated computing hardware at scale for all kinds of use cases. As a software engineer on the Bolt team, you will be responsible for shaping how our users understand and interact with the platform's user interfaces and APIs. You'll work collaboratively with Apple machine learning engineers to understand the challenges they are facing, and work with our team and partners to design and implement solutions that enable innovative and impactful work across the company!

Description

As a software engineer on the Bolt team you have the following responsibilities: - Design and implement new user-facing features and capabilities in Bolt's web-based user interface and client libraries. - Lead effective design processes. Create mocks, write design documents, gather feedback, and drive implementation plans. - Work as part of our team of engineers to integrate existing services or implement new services, as needed. - Partner with data scientists and machine learning engineers across different Apple organizations to define opportunities to improve the machine learning platform. - Gather and analyze usage data to measure and understand impact of existing product features, and detect gaps and opportunities for improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Software development skills, with proficiency in React.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python
  • Experience designing & building user experiences in technical domains, e.g. command-line tools, end user APIs, or data visualizations
  • Experience driving user experience design based on real world data
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent industry work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building back-end services in Python or Golang
  • Experience working with relational/SQL databases
  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence workflows, language, and processes
  • Experience deploying applications and distributed systems on Kubernetes
  • Advance degree in Computer Science

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
