We're looking for a strong Engineering Program Manager with a proven track record of driving highly cross-functional projects dependent on innovative machine learning technologies. You will work with cross-functional software engineering teams to develop data collection and product evaluation strategies. You will work with data science, data engineering, annotation operations, and privacy to create a plan and execute on these requirements in a highly deadline driven environment. These efforts are critical in driving quality improvement for products to over 1 billion customers, your role is essential to creating the highest quality user experience that Apple customers expect and love.

Description

- Create and manage project schedules with clear dependencies, critical path and systematic methodology to communicate status. Manage risks and mitigations, and re-plan as events warrant. Drive alignment across the organization and between teams - Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to define human annotation requirements vital to launch and maintain premier Apple software products - Work with data science, data engineering and research teams to develop data collection and evaluation solutions - Work with annotation operation teams to optimize and manage human data collection and evaluations efforts. - Work with engineering, privacy, and legal teams to develop safe data collection

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing large-scale, machine learning-powered product programs and delivering client/server software across large organizations (100+ people).
  • Proven program management, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills with experience driving data-driven decision-making and process improvement.
  • Strong communication skills with expertise in negotiation, presentation, and influencing across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD degree in Statistics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, other Quantitative Sciences, or related field and equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing a program management team in AI powered product space, preferably experience in evaluation of MLAI products.
  • Self-sufficient in analyzing and drawing conclusions about the quality and product opportunity from raw and refined product data
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to details

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,000 and $278,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
