Description

As a Sr Data Scientist for Siri Assistant and Apple Intelligence, you will use statistical analysis of structured data to deepen our understanding of how hundreds of millions of people use Siri and other AI based product experiences across an array of devices, including iPhone, HomePod, Mac, and new products yet-to-be-released, and across endless use cases from music to home automation and general knowledge discovery. You will be responsible to: Develop metrics and measurement framework that guide iterative product improvement for AI based user experiences. Employ a diverse toolkit of analytical approaches, methodologies, frameworks, and technical strategies to uncover opportunities to improve user experience of AI based products. This includes insights on the performance of the underlying LLMs that these products depend on. Develop tools with scalable analytical and engineering approaches that expedite and simplify finding insights from user behavior and LLM training data. Investigate world-wide product usage to identify weaknesses and opportunities to make the product better. Define metrics and design A/B tests with instrumentation to assess the success of new features. Build relationships with Engineering leads and product partners across the AIML product ecosystem to drive a privacy-first strategy for analytical insight. Build credibility with product partners through clarity, structured and user- centric thinking.
  • Proven experience as a data science practitioner.
  • Proficiency with applying quantitative methods to structured & unstructured data for exploratory data analysis, pattern recognition, insights generation, metrics development, and scaling analytical tools.
  • Experience with understanding the complexity of user behavior for AI based product experiences, as well as designing, analyzing, and interpreting A/B experiments.
  • Strong programming skills in data manipulation & processing including SQL, python, and ideally software engineering experience.
  • Self-motivated and curious with creative and critical thinking capabilities and drive to figure out and improve how things work.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity. You find a way through. You anticipate. You connect and synthesize.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated experience in authoring & presenting analytical insights via papers & presentations.
  • Proven experience in cultivating partner relationships and influencing decisions with data.
  • Master's degree in a technical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or Physics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD preferred.
  • Software Engineering experience.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
