The Siri Natural Language Understanding(NLU) team is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer. We develop and extend Siri's NLU to enable understanding of complex, nuanced intents to support the growth of Siri's functionality and usefulness. You will join a small, fast-paced team that directly supports a variety of project managers, linguistic annotators, and other NLU stakeholders. Description
Siri Language Technologies team is looking for resourceful Frontend/UI Engineer who will drive the design and implementation of the annotation tooling necessary for developing our next generation of NLU technologies. You will be working directly with NLU data scientists and modeling engineers to interpret requirements and make informed design decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS, MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree with applicable experience.
- Maintain, share and deploy annotation tooling with a modern technology stack, continuous integration, and deployment.
- Developing and maintaining complex, rich, large scale web applications for data-intensive systems.
- dentify opportunities to expand annotation UI/web components design to focus and share between other internal tools to improve reusability, consistency, and efficiency.
- Document annotation tooling strategies, interfaces, and usage guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and at least one modern JavaScript library/framework such as React (preferred), Redux, Angular, Vue, etc.
- Experience with Frontend build systems (webpack, vite, parcel) and automation.
- A confirmed understanding of core web, DOM manipulation, and browser concepts
- Experience integrating front-end web/UI interface with back end Application Server technologies.
- Good sense of design/UX principles, passion for UX, and developer experience.
- Familiarity with JavaScript Unit Testing Framework as Jest (preferred) and/or Cypress
- Proficient knowledge of Git and NPM.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate, collaborate, and work with back-end developers, annotation project leads, data scientists, data engineers, and product managers.
- Experience in REST, GraphQL API development, and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, etc) is a plus.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
