Description

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and integrating scalable architectures, building essential APIs, frameworks, and libraries that empower Development and Evaluation teams to efficiently test and evaluate AI/ML-powered features. You will own requirements definition, including proof-of-concept development, and co-own the roadmap for ML system evaluation platforms, ensuring seamless system integration and continuous improvement. Your contributions will be instrumental in enhancing automation, improving model performance assessment, and streamlining workflows for AI/ML teams. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of driving full product cycles, from design and implementation to gathering feedback and iterating on tools that enable AI/ML teams. You will build, measure, and optimize software solutions to provide insights into platform changes, ensuring they drive innovation and enhance Apple's AI-driven user experiences. This role demands a strategic mindset, technical excellence, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments, while collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, research, and product teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development, specializing in designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale, data-intensive frameworks, APIs, and tools.
  • Proven proficiency in Python (required), with additional experience in Swift or Objective-C (desired) and at least one other object-oriented programming language such as C++, C#, or Java.
  • Deep expertise in system architecture, development, testing, debugging, release, and maintenance, ensuring scalability and high performance.
  • Over 4 years of experience in designing and architecting software tools and frameworks, driving innovation and excellence in quality.
  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills, with a systematic approach to identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex software issues.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
