We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Siri Runtime Platform team, with a primary focus on advancing privacy-first systems that enable Siri's seamless functionality for millions of users worldwide. The Siri Runtime Platform team is responsible for building the foundational technologies that power Siri and Dictation across billions of Apple devices. Serving as a horizontal platform across all device ecosystems (iOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS), the team manages the lifecycle of user interactions with Siri. In this role, you will lead efforts to design, implement, and optimize privacy-enhancing technologies. You'll create scalable, secure solutions that safeguard user data while driving innovation in on-device processing and minimizing data sharing. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with expertise in building large-scale, distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in languages like Swift, Objective-C, C++ or Python.
• Solid understanding of privacy-preserving technologies and secure software development.
• Experience with runtime systems, APIs, and performance optimization in real-time applications.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks, privacy and security vulnerabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a cross-functional environment.

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, with a focus on security, privacy, or distributed systems.
• Experience with privacy frameworks such as differential privacy, federated learning, or secure multi-party computation.
• Familiarity with Apple platforms and technologies, including iOS and macOS development.
• Knowledge of analytics systems and techniques for balancing privacy with usability.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with a track record of driving technical initiatives and mentoring team members.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
