The AIML Core Infra team is looking for an experienced software engineer to work on core infrastructure for information intelligence at Apple. We build systems to connect Apple users to information as part of the wider Apple Intelligence initiative. You will work closely with product teams and information intelligence teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient infrastructure that powers Apple products for billions of users.
Description
In this position, you will collaborate with a team of engineers to create reliable, scalable, and efficient platforms that power search and information intelligence at Apple. Your primary responsibility will be to design, improve, and innovate large scale service mesh framework that offers great developer experiences to the internal teams. Successful candidates should be passionate about software architecture, system design, as well as the overall user experience and can make informed tradeoffs and optimizations to deliver great product experiences!

Minimum Qualifications
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- In-depth knowledge of Linux, particularly in networking
- Familiarity with Cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure etc.) and Kubernetes
- Strong problem solving skills with on-call experiences for critical infrastructure systems
- Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio, Envoy, etc
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience on Service Mesh data plane
- Familiar with cloud infra automation tools like terraform, cross plane etc
- Experience with large scale distributed systems
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
