The Events Operations, Technology Manager will play a crucial role in leveraging technology to enhance the attendee experience, streamline event operations, and achieve event objectives effectively.

  • Key liaison for business systems and technology for all internal and external events.
  • Have a critical role in our registration systems for events.  
  • Spearhead implementation of innovative event technologies, enhancing attendee experience and engagement.
  • Streamline event operations through the integration of tech solutions, resulting in improved efficiency and cost savings.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the successful execution of complex event technology projects, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery.
  • Develop and deliver playbooks and training programs for staff on the use of event technology tools, empowering teams to leverage tech capabilities effectively.
  • Established partnerships with technology vendors to stay abreast of emerging trends and leverage cutting-edge solutions for events.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their unique requirements and customize technology solutions to meet their needs effectively.
  • Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of event technology infrastructure, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted event operations.
  • Implement Sustainable practices in event technology management, reducing environmental impact and promoting eco-friendly initiatives.
  • Lead in the development and collaborate in the design of our mobile application experiences.

 

Qualifications 
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in event technology, marketing, trade show, and conference industry.
  • Strong background in events business systems, technology and applications. 
  • Must be Cvent certified: Event management, Event Management Advanced.
  • Proficiency in measuring, tracking, and analyzing the business impact of events to inform future strategies and decisions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in event registration and mobile application experience. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of articulating strategies to diverse audiences, including leadership.
  • Highly motivated and resourceful problem solver, able to navigate challenges and drive results in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Google Suite, Slack, Salesforce, Wrike, Airtable, Cvent, Tableau or similar tools preferred.
  • Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering exceptional event experiences.
  • Technically proficient, familiarity with Google Suite, Salesforce, Marketo, Tableau, Wrike, Slack or similar tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Marketing, Communications or a related field preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in event or marketing operations and programs.
  • Analytical and resourceful, able to problem solve and remain calm under pressure.
  • Acumen with creating dynamic experiences that delight and wow audiences.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, with very strong project management and meticulous organizational skills.
  • Must be an event program planning and execution expert who can understand strategy, take initiative, think outside the box and drive additional value to AppFolio’s event marketing programs
  • Flexibility, and the agility to jump into (and between) projects as needed as well as possess the initiative to notice a need and offer assistance where applicable.
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication aptitude and a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic. Entrepreneurial, easily can wear multiple hats and thrives on figuring things out and working in a nimble work environment. 
  • Strong event logistics reporting and budget management skills.
  • The ability to form and develop productive relationships both within the company, external vendors or partners.
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, consistency and transparency.
  • Creative thinker with strong implementation ability.
  • Highly-responsive, attentive, and quick to react to new and urgent requests.
  • Keen ability to keep track of and manage minutiae in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly motivated, resourceful problem solver with a positive attitude, who is also calm under pressure and has a great sense of humor.
  • Technically proficient, familiarity with Google Suite, Salesforce, Marketo, Tableau, Wrike, Slack or similar tools is a plus.

  • Ability to influence and motivate others, driving collaboration and resolving conflicts between diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Agile and entrepreneurial mindset, able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and seize opportunities for growth.
  • Experience working with all levels of a sales organization.
  • 20% travel requirement of this role.

 

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary/hourly wage that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $75,000 - 115,000.
The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc. 
Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
