SUMMARY
Seeking an outstanding candidate to join Maxwell R&D team responsible for the industry leading simulation tool with the gold standard ANSYS Maxwell simulation software product. We welcome applicants with a strong background in various simulation and modeling techniques with a focus on new algorithms and capabilities for low frequency electromagnetics applications. The successful candidate will have a solid background in scientific software development, the ability to develop novel solution approaches, and experience in the application of scientific principles to analyzing engineering problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in planning, architecture, and research
- Performs complex development activities that requires design and implementations of new solver algorithms in C++
- Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
- Investigates problems discovered by QA or product support, and develops solutions
- Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions
- Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities
- May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reports
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5 years' experience, MS with 3 years' experience, or PhD with 1 year experience
- Experience with software design and development methodologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in computational electromagnetics
- Strong knowledge of electromagnetic fields and its applications, particularly low frequency electromagnetics
- Strong knowledge of finite element methods in electromagnetics
- Knowledge of high-performance computing including domain decompositions techniques
- Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
