Summary / Role Purpose

The Senior Product Manager is a fully competent, experienced professional that is responsible for engaging with customers, field staff, and development to achieve strategic revenue objectives, oversee go-to-market strategy, and generate product roadmaps that provide competitive differentiation in the market. They have broad knowledge of the Fluids product portfolio that is sufficient to educate the broader organization on unique selling points across the portfolio.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive product vision & strategy, planning, and go-to-market (GTM) as well as sales support activities for the products & offerings of the Fluids Business Unit
  • Build and continually refine a business case based on market analysis that underpins the product vision and goals
  • Create a GTM strategy with clear business value, unique value proposition, pricing strategy, and marketing to achieve goals & revenue objectives
  • Work closely with customers, channel partners, and Ansys Customer Excellence (ACE) teams to evaluate and prioritize product changes and enhancements
  • Provide research and insights into ongoing market trends/needs and articulate the findings in the form of product requirements
  • Work closely with development teams to create realistic roadmaps and schedules
  • Collect product feedback and assess competitive threats on a continuous basis
  • Maintain close customer relationships to remain aware of needs and pains
  • Contribute to technical white papers, application notes, product positioning presentations, and webinars in support of GTM strategy
  • Support ACE & Sales colleagues in Pre-Sales engagements as appropriate
  • Function as a specialist/expert during customer visits and technical events as appropriate
  • Provide QA testing & feedback on new product features and workflows as necessary
  • Train ACE & Sales on new products and features as necessary
  • Analyze quarterly sales performance and initiate actions to enhance the same, ensuring annual sales goals are met on budget

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field with 5 years of combined experience in engineering, computer simulation, pre-sales support, sales, or customer engagement; or a Masters with 3 years of experience; or a PhD with 1 year of experience
  • Experience and understanding of the end-to-end simulation process from initial design to solution post-processing
  • Awareness of industry trends towards automation and democratization, requiring workflows that are fast, accurate, and easy-to-use
  • Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to communicate business value of technical innovations
  • Eagerness to compete and win product/technology sales
  • Ability to travel approximately 20-30% of the time
  • English Fluency required

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced degree in business, science or engineering
  • 8+ years of combined experience in engineering, CAE simulations, or technical sales
  • Experience using Ansys CFD tools such as Fluent, Icepak, Thermal Desktop, and Discovery, and/or usage of similar competitive products in the market
  • Prior experience in a product management role
  • Expertise of High Tech industry requirements, key drivers, and market trends is a plus
