Summary / Role Purpose
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will leverage advanced expertise in High Performance Computing, Python scripting, and engineering simulation to provide top-tier technical support, ensuring enhanced customer satisfaction. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing custom simulation applications, guiding technical activities throughout the solution lifecycle, and directly engaging with customers to address their needs. Additionally, you will collaborate with product development teams to translate customer requirements into product features and support marketing efforts to promote Ansys solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support in High Performance Computing, Python scripting, and engineering simulation to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity.
- Develop, test, and implement application development processes for custom simulation applications and web-applications with high-performance computing back-ends.
- Lead technical activities throughout the sales lifecycle, including technology presentations, demonstrations, and solution deployments, while independently managing customer interactions.
- Collaborate with product development teams to translate customer needs into new product features and test new releases on industrial problems.
- Contribute to consulting services, and support marketing initiatives to share knowledge and promote Ansys products.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Required education and degree type: BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+0 in Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering or related field
- Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
- Strong organizational and time management skills, work with a sense of urgency
- Two (2) years' experience in using and/or managing High Performance Computing systems such as LSF, PBS Pro, and SLURM
- Proficient in Python scripting, particularly using simulation software APIs and associated simulation related automation tools
- At least a basic understanding and familiarity with engineering simulations including but not limited to FEA and CFD. Understanding of Ansys software and PyAnsys is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3
- 2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software
- Experience or familiarity with DevOps infrastructure and processes
- Knowledge about Cloud infrastructure particularly commercial offering such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Basic understanding of software container technologies and clusters such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Ability to travel as required.
