Summary / Role Purpose

As a R&D Documentation Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating, editing, and managing a variety of technical documentation, training resources, and digital content for our software. You will determine the best way to organize and deliver information, write, and revise content, for technical accuracy, consistency, and style. This role requires effective planning, scheduling, research, writing, and editing skills.

You will work closely with agile development teams to stay current on product updates, ensuring that all content is accurate, consistent, and aligns with our brand and technical standards.

Ansys is launching an innovative new solution for embedded systems, Scade One. Join us in pioneering a new era of model-based software development within our SMP unit. You will play an essential role in ensuring the successful adoption and impactful use of our tools, trusted across the industry to enhance the safety and security of complex systems—from cars to airplanes and beyond—in a rapidly evolving world.

This position is open to a junior documentation specialist, with 1 or 2 years of experience in a similar position.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Determines audience needs to create user documentation, tutorials, training materials, blogs and videos
  • Updates and revises previously released documentation
  • Attains a high level of knowledge about the software, documentation tools, processes, and publishing procedures
  • Works closely with development teams and experts to implement technological requirements for Ansys documentation
  • Builds coalitions and works effectively in fast-paced, dynamic team environments, contributing actively to the development of various contents for a user community

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS/MS in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, or English/Linguistics with 1 or 2 years of experience in technical writing
  • Familiarity with the concepts of documentation authoring, common project management software, version control, structured documentation, user-centered design processes, agile development, as well as build tools
  • Experience in determining the best method to present information and creating the appropriate outputs, such as topic-based help, videos, tutorials, blogs, graphics, and interactive learning systems
  • Fluency in English, along with excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Some knowledge of French appreciated for teamwork
  • Skilled at gathering and analyzing technical and product information from various sources, paying close attention to detail
  • First experience in developing user-centric documentation in the software industry ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and accuracy
  • Familiarity with Oxygen tooling (XML Editor, XML WebHelp, Content Fusion) for DITA-structured documentation development
  • Familiarity with Git environments (issues, PRs, branching, reviewing process) ideally with GitHub. Some experience working in a CI/CD environment is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experienced with the development of pedagogical material for customer training or technical knowledge in software development tools and languages like C, C#, Python
