SUMMARY
ANSYS, Inc. is seeking a passionate Full Stack Developer to join our reporting team as Lead R&D Engineer. The team's primary emphasis lies in crafting software tools tailored for the collection and aggregation of the large amount of engineering data and find innovative and dynamic ways to analyze and visualize it to provide our customers with better insights. As part of this team, you will work on both front-end and back-end technologies, contributing to the design, development and deployment of our application. You will collaborate closely with our product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions that empower engineers in extracting maximum insights from their simulations, ultimately facilitating optimal R&D discoveries.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads planning, architecture, or research at a project level.
- Coordinates product design and development activities requiring extensive analysis in areas such as user experience, software design and solver research.
- Acts as a technical reference within a group or product.
- Develops and employs best practices and maintains them through technical reviews and mentoring.
- Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support across multiple products.
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions, collaborating with the QA/support team.
- May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions.
- Operates without direct supervision and may function as a team leader, project manager, or software architect.
- May be responsible for line management of a small technical team but primary duties are of an individual technical nature.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 8 years' experience, MS with 6 years' experience, or PhD with 4 years' experience
- Proficiency in back-end technologies such as Python, Django, Node.js.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Angular)
- Familiarity with the W3C Web Components specifications and best practices for building interoperable and reusable components.
- Proven track record of crafting robust and efficient code.
- Experience with version control systems and Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Experience with web 3D technologies (e.g. WebGL, Three.js)
- Experience leading projects and delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
- Ability to translate business needs into development plans.
- Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior developers.
