SUMMARY

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for managing and implementing all phases of build, release and environment management for a distributed team developing engineering software. Duties also include developing and maintaining custom scripts and integrating Open Source tools for developers and testers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop and maintain build tools for creation, deployment and monitoring of product builds.
  • Automate build processes and integrate with Continuous Integration systems like Azure DevOps (formerly TFS).
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure tools for development and testing teams.
  • Maintain high quality production and development builds of ANSYS FBU software products on Windows and Linux systems
  • Improve performance and reliability of product builds
  • Deploy, maintain and support current software development and testing tools/environments (e.g., Visual Studio, Compilers, IDEs, MPI etc.)
  • Investigate and address build and runtime failures; fix compilation and linker errors
  • Assist developers in resolving build issues
  • Maintain and update third-party dependencies as needed
  • Assemble, create, and test distribution media for official and special version releases
  • Execute acceptance tests to ensure product stability and conformance to company quality standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing and production environments
  • Work in a collaborative manner with members of the software development, infrastructure and testing teams
  • Interface with IT team to specify, deploy, maintain and update build systems
  • Performs other job-related duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Very strong scripting skills (Python, Linux shell scripting, Windows batch scripting and Perl)
  • Strong background in Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with maintenance and development of Makefiles and CMake or SCons
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan and complete high-quality work on a schedule
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English because the position requires (1) collaboration and communication with Ansys' global team, including employees outside Quebec and (2) working with Ansys software products and software development tools that are written entirely in English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or the foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline or 1-3 years of related experience is preferred
  • Visual Studio, Intel and GCC compilers knowledge is preferred
  • Experience with YAML, JSON and GO programming language is desirable
  • Familiarity with C/C++ and Fortran programming is desirable
  • Experience with a continuous integration system like Azure DevOps or TeamCity is desirable
  • Experience with dependency management tools like Conan or NuGet is desirable
  • Experience with a configuration management software like GIT is desirable
  • Experience implementing open-source tools is desirable.

  • Automatiser les processus de création et les intégrer avec des systèmes d'intégration continue comme Azure DevOps (anciennement TFS).
  • Développer et maintenir des outils d'infrastructure pour les équipes de développement et de test.
  • Maintenir des versions de production et de développement de haute qualité des produits logiciels ANSYS FBU sur des systèmes Windows et Linux.
  • Améliorer les performances et la fiabilité des processus de création des produits.
  • Déployer, maintenir et supporter les outils/environnements actuels de développement et de test (par exemple, Visual Studio, compilateurs, IDE, MPI, etc.).
  • Rechercher et résoudre les défaillances lors des processus de création et d'exécution; corriger les erreurs de compilation et de liaison.
  • Assister les développeurs dans la résolution des problèmes de création.
  • Maintenir et mettre à jour les dépendances tierces au besoin.
  • Assembler, créer et tester les supports de distribution pour les versions officielles et spéciales.
  • Effectuer des tests d'acceptation pour garantir la stabilité des produits et leur conformité aux normes de qualité de l'entreprise.
  • Résoudre les problèmes dans les environnements de développement, de test et de production.
  • Collaborer avec les membres des équipes de développement logiciel, d'infrastructure et de test.
  • Travailler avec l'équipe informatique pour spécifier, déployer, maintenir et mettre à jour les systèmes de création.
  • Effectuer d'autres tâches liées au poste pouvant être assignées par la direction.

Exigences Minimales en Matière de Formation, de Certification et d'Expérience

  • Diplôme de baccalauréat en informatique, génie informatique ou dans un domaine connexe.
  • Très solides compétences en script (Python, script shell Linux, script batch Windows et Perl).
  • Solide expérience des systèmes d'exploitation Linux et Windows.
  • Expérience dans le maintien et le développement de Makefiles et d'outils comme CMake ou SCons.
  • Excellentes compétences en résolution de problèmes et en dépannage.
  • Capacité à planifier et à effectuer un travail de haute qualité selon un calendrier établi.
