Responsibilities:

  • Produces actuarial forecasts including revenue and claims, development of medical and pharmacy trends and analysis of benefit and population changes.
  • Manages monthly reporting of Medicare Advantage product performance and determines drivers of performance variances to monthly budgets.
  • Supports the annual Medicare Bid process through Claim projections, Benefit pricing and other actuarial analyses as needed.
  • Tracking performance of Medicare Advantage Supplemental Benefits relative to Medicare Bid pricing.
  • Leads the actuarial component of Value Based Care (VBC) Medicare Advantage Strategy and supports financial reporting of existing VBC initiatives.
  • Manages all other actuarial processes and analyses in support of Medicare Advantage products.
  • Responsible for management and execution of all actuarial functions in support of Medicare Advantage products and assures that all work is done based on sound actuarial principles.;

Education/ Experience:;

  • Bachelor’s Degree actuarial science, statistics, or mathematics or other business field required.
  • Associate of the Society Actuaries (ASA) required. FSA preferred.
  • 3+ years experience working with Medicare Advantage is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years progressively responsible actuarial experience in managed healthcare or related field, with significant project and/or people management experience.
  • Strong technical skills including MS Excel, MS Access, and SQL. SAS experience is preferred.
