Senior Subrogation Claims Manager

Madison, WI

The Subrogation Manager manages the development and implementation of strategies, programs, processes, standards and practices related to the identification and collection of subrogation. Manage a team of managers responsible for subrogation recovery. Facilitate continuous development of people, processes, and culture to ensure customer service industry leadership. You will report to a Claims Director, Adjusting Claims Services.

Position Compensation Range:
$109,000.00 - $186,000.00

Primary Accountabilities

  • Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development.
  • Lead with influence and expertise. Contribute to division or department leadership team. Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.
  • Lead teams to ensure delivery of services that exceed customer expectations and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Maintain awareness of existing and proposed legislation, court decisions and emerging trends in claims litigation to monitor the company's compliance and recommend procedure changes.
  • Direct claims managers and staff on all aspects of claims handling including those related to coverage and escalated through the team.
  • Review, evaluate and maintain file-handling process to meet company and statutory guidelines.
  • Participate in corporate claims projects including quality file handling, process improvement and training of staff.
  • Prepare annual operating budget. Help prepare business plans.
  • Implement opportunities for process improvements.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of office and field claim handling processes.
  • Demonstrated thorough understanding of policy language, coverages and underwriting intent.
  • Demonstrated claims handling experience and licensing.
  • Recognize developing problems/conflicts and ability to resolve.
  • Prior property claims experience preferred (3-5 years)
  • Prior subrogation experience preferred (3-5 years)
  • Prior claims leadership experience preferred (3-5 years)
  • May involve up to 25% travel.

In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783.
