As a Senior Commercial and Homeowner Liability Claims Adjuster, you will Investigate and maintain highly complex property/casualty claims. You will determine liability, secure information, reviews coverages, arrange appraisals, and settle claims. Demonstrate experience to perform all areas of claim adjustment activities with the highest degree of competency and independence. May specialize in liability, property or bodily injury claims. You will report to a Senior Manager, Adjusting Services.

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home. Candidates must reside within a 35-mile radius of Boston, MA 02110 or 50 mile radius of Keene, NH 03431.

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Investigate origin and cause of high exposure claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, public personnel, etc. Checks for prior claims and recognizes environmental exposures.
  • Participate in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage issues and exposure. Handle claims on a good faith basis.
  • Handle Third-Party claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements.
  • Conduct on-site inspections when needed, evaluates damages and handles claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, public adjusters.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, makes appropriate decisions, and close file as needed.
  • Interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and apply to all parties for assigned losses. Interprets claim history coverages.
  • Make independent decisions but recognize when assistance is needed.
  • Provide all parties with claim process and status as appropriate; answers questions or redirects to other areas.
  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters.
  • May be required to complete other assignments, job duties, or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.
  • You will handle a variety of complex claims, including coverage matters.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • Demonstrate ability to handle Third-Party, multi-line claims across our operating territories.
  • Demonstrate experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrate ability to efficiently and effectively handle complex claims.
  • Extensive knowledge of policies and endorsements coverages.

Licenses
  • Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing as required.

Travel Requirements
  • Up to 10%.

Physical Requirements
  • Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
  • 5+ years experience handling liability claims
