Alteryx is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join the Connectivity org. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in Python and Java based stacks, a strong understanding of the data domain-specifically in integration and connectivity-and an ability to work across teams to achieve technical alignment. If you're a self-driven individual who thrives in solving complex problems and enjoys working on innovative data solutions, we'd love to hear from you.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record of technical leadership.


  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in the data domain, focusing on integration and connectivity solutions.


  • Proficiency in Python and Java based stacks, with expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable applications.


  • Deep understanding of software architecture and design principles.


  • Proven experience with APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems.


  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.


  • Strong ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders to achieve technical alignment on critical initiatives.


  • Self-driven and proactive in identifying opportunities and delivering results.


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and documentation.

Nice-to-Have Requirements:

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)


  • Experience with frameworks like Spring Boot (Java) or Flask/Django (Python).


  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data lake/warehouse architectures.


  • Familiarity with connectivity protocols and data exchange standards (e.g., JDBC, ODBC, REST APIs, gRPC)


  • Prior experience mentoring junior engineers and driving technical decision-making within a team.


  • Relevant certifications in cloud, data engineering, or related fields are a plus.


  • Experience in building customer-facing SDKs is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable software solutions with a focus on data integration and connectivity.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on architecture and technical strategies.


  • Take ownership of critical projects and ensure timely delivery with high-quality standards.


  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.


  • Contribute to the technical roadmap and participate in strategic decision-making.
